MULTIDYNE INTRODUCES A HIGH-CAPACITY FIEILD FIBER ACQUISTION SYSTEM - THE LiGHTBoX 1440
LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y., March 15, 2011 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic video and audio transports as well as routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, introduces a new high-capacity, field fiber acquisition system with the release of the LiGHTBoX 1440, a weather-tight portable fiber transport custom-configured to handle a wide range of communication needs.
The industry-proven MultiDyne LiGHTBoX has provided news crews and free-lance cameramen with the ability to capture events up close, while being linked back to the truck over tactical fiber. MultiDyne’ new LiGHTBoX 1440now offers the ability to handle multiple HD camera feeds, each with viewfinder returns, program audio from live concerts, 2-CH PL intercom for industry-standard beltpacs, GPI & tally as well as data and Ethernet.
Like the original LiGHTBoX, this unit can be custom configured in the field or ordered to specification. Any stand-alone MultiDyne unit can be mounted in any LiGHTBoX. The convenient side access I/O panel can handle up to 60 feeds. This next-generation field unit incorporates a sophisticated power management system that monitors battery life (up to two batteries) and automatically switches to back-up AC power when it detects battery end-of-life. A remote display and alarm system mounted in the truck alerts the video operator as to what is happening out at the LiGHTBoX 1440.
The LiGHTBoX 1440 can be linked to the truck or studio with standard ST optical connectors, Neutrik Opticalcon, SMPTE or Tyco cables. The LiGHTBoX 1440 can be mated with another LiGHTBoX 1440, a LiGHTCuBE or a standard 19”, 1RU rack mount panel.
The LiGHTBoX 1440 along with the LiGHTBoX II and many other new MultiDyne products will debut at NAB 2011, Central Hall, Booth C6537.
